WELCOME to Rose Garden Early Years Centre

We run Steiner Waldorf inspired Parent/Carer and Child groups throughout the week in our beautiful Victorian house and large, natural gardens at 5 Christchurch gardens, Reading, RG2 7AH. 

 

Our welcoming groups allow your child to develop and socialise in a reassuring family atmosphere. Imagination and creativity are nurtured through free play with simple toys and natural materials. We celebrate the seasons through craft, stories and  songs. Parents and carers can come together to share experiences, learn new skills, and support each other through the highs and lows of parenting. It’s an excellent way for parents to experience Steiner Education from the roots up.

What sessions run at Rose Garden?

Stay & play group

A group for parents/ carers and their children, aimed at Children aged  1 to 4 years old. (Siblings under 1 welcome to attend)

Children have plenty of time to play freely in our large gardens and cosy indoor space. Half way through the session there is an opportunity to indulge in a seasonal craft such as painting, baking, making birdfeeders... then we tidy away and enjoy a shared, healthy snack. The session is concluded with a short puppet show and a few nursery rhymes.

Baby group (bump to 1 year)

A meet up group for parents/ carers and their children, aimed at Children aged 0 to mobile. The group is simple, babies can lay or crawl in a warm, natural environment with natural toys, whilst their Adult gets to drink a warm drink, craft and have a chat! A great way to meet friends and relax.

Knead to play (3-6 years)

A group for parents/ carers and their children, aimed at Children aged  3 to 6 years old. 

At the start of the session, children prepare themselves a light meal, such as pizza. Whilst baking, children have plenty of time to play freely in our large gardens and cosy indoor space.

The session is concluded by them eating their meal together, and a short puppet show.

Home education social group 

A group for parents/ carers and their children, aimed at Children aged 4 to 7 years old. 

Children have plenty of time to play freely in our large gardens and cosy indoor space. Half way through the session there is an opportunity to indulge in a seasonal craft such as painting, baking, making birdfeeders... then we tidy away and enjoy a shared, healthy snack. The session is concluded with a puppet show and seasonal songs.

Ad hoc festivals 

Themed sessions throughout the year celebrating seasonal festivals. More details can be found on upcoming festivals and past events.
