FESTIVALS

Throughout the year, we celebrate a rich tapestry of festivals, inviting children and families to connect with the rhythms of nature, the mood of the seasons, and the wider world. Some festivals are shared within our regular groups, while others are special bookable events. Here are some of our bookable festivals:
Autumn Festival (End of October) – A joyful celebration of the season’s colours, harvest, and changing nature. Children can explore free-flow autumnal activities in our playroom and gardens, including biscuit decorating, spider web weaving, pumpkin crayon-resist art, hat decorating, apple bobbing, leaf bunting, making witches’ potions, and seasonal games.
Martinmas / Lantern Walk (November) – Martinmas brings light into the darkening days. Children create colourful lanterns and take part in an early evening magical lantern walk.
Advent Fair (End of November) – Children are invited to step into the magic of the season. They can explore our cosy setting filled with seasonal decorations, enjoy a variety of free-flow wintery crafts, and take part in seasonal games both indoors and in our garden.
Advent Spiral – (END of november/ beginning of december) –
In our garden marquee, a spiral of evergreen boughs is lit by a single central light. One by one, participants walk the path carrying a candle, “lighting” it from the centre, then turn and return to the entrance, placing it along the spiral. As more candles are added, the space fills with a warm glow and gentle music, creating a magical moment. (For the safety of very young children, LED candles are used. While not a real flame, they still carry the symbolic meaning.)
Christmas Cookie Decorating (december) – Children delight in decorating a box of homemade cookies to take home, enjoy gentle free play, and gather to watch a magical Christmas puppet show, celebrating the warmth, creativity, and togetherness of the season.
Easter / Spring Festival (March/ april) – Easter is a time to celebrate new life and the renewal of spring. Children are invited to enjoy seasonal crafts, take part in an Easter egg hunt, and explore through free play, experiencing the richness and awakening of springtime.
May Day (May) – May Day welcomes the fullness of spring. Children create flower crowns, dance around the Maypole, sing, and enjoy seasonal crafts. The festival encourages a celebration of nature, movement, and joy within our community.
Midsummer Festival (JUNE) – Celebrate the longest day of the year with us! Enjoy games, free play, and seasonal crafts, including creating nature mandalas, painting a watercolour sun and preparing sun-shaped bread to take home and bake.
